This privacy policy is intended for visitors or users of our website (www.honection.com) or application, particularly for professional athletes and sports brokers.

This privacy policy describes how HONECTION BV ("HONECTION," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit or use our website or application, or when you request to receive our services. It also describes your rights concerning your information and with whom you can contact for more information or questions.

This privacy policy applies to the processing of your personal data by HONECTION BV, with registered office in Dilbeek, and with company number 1015.583.070 (hereinafter 'HONECTION' or 'we').

2. Information We Collect

HONECTION is the 'controller' of your personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation. This includes all information about an identified or identifiable natural person ("you" or "the data subject"); such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or one or more elements that are characteristic of the physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person (hereinafter the "Personal Data").  

The Personal Data that we actually process are explained below.

We learn about your Personal Data when you visit our website (www.honection.com) or when you submit your personal data to us (via our website or application) using a digital registration form.

The following Personal Data is processed by HONECTION by default:

  • Name (first and last name)

  • Email address

  • Profession

Depending on the follow-up we give to this initial contact, the following Personal Data, among other things, may be additionally processed (but always after you have been explicitly invited to do so by us):

  • Gender

  • Date and place of birth

  • Address

  • Billing information

  • Telephone, mobile, fax number

  • KBO/VAT number, national register number

  • Bank account number

  • Other information you provide to us in the context of your file.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your Personal Data to provide you with quality services, manage your files, and meet our legal obligations.

The Personal Data is used, among other things, for the following:

  • We process your Personal Data as a result of your visit to our website (www.honection.com);

  • Keep you informed of HONECTION's activities, such as events, news and updates.

  • Inform you about relevant services and products.

  • Fulfilling our legal obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We are legally obliged to state in this privacy statement the legal grounds on which we base ourselves to process your Personal Data.

These legal grounds are:

  1. Your explicit consent (via an opt-in checkbox on the website or in the application) when we request and obtain this in specific circumstances, for example for receiving our newsletters and/or updates;

  2. Legitimate interest of HONECTION: to inform you about our activities and relevant services;

In some cases, we may send you direct marketing (for example by e-mail), as you have provided us with your data for this purpose and have given your consent. The direct marketing we send you will always relate to our own similar services. If you do not wish to receive communication from HONECTION, you can unsubscribe from this in the communication or e-mail, or contact us via our contact details (see point 1).

5. Sharing Your Information

HONECTION treats your data with strict confidentiality. Your data will only be shared with:

  • Mailerlite: We use Mailerlite to send our newsletters. Mailerlite is a third party that complies with the GDPR and processes your data securely.

  • Wix: Our website is built with Wix. Wix is a third party that complies with the GDPR and processes your data securely.

  • Standard office software applications: including Microsoft software (Microsoft 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.);

  • Government authorities: If legally required, we may share your data with government authorities.

  • Other subcontractors, such as our consultants, accountants or lawyers (the latter being bound by professional secrecy).

HONECTION has concluded a processor agreement with these suppliers to guarantee the protection of your personal data.

6. Data Security

HONECTION takes all necessary physical, electronic, and organizational measures to keep your Personal Data safe, accurate, and up-to-date. These measures include:

  • Following newsletters, online information services, and training courses and seminars regarding our obligations in the field of privacy legislation;

  • Applying administrative and technical controls and restrictions to access your Personal Data;

  • Technical measures in terms of IT security (firewalls, strong passwords, data encryption, regular updates of software and systems, secure servers, etc.);

  • Organizational measures: access control to personal data, training of employees on data protection, pseudonymization where possible, etc.

  • Physical access control to our office.

7. Data Retention

HONECTION keeps your Personal Data after you have subscribed to our newsletters and updates for a maximum period of 5 years after your last interaction with HONECTION. You can unsubscribe at any time. After unsubscribing, your data will be deleted unless we are legally obliged to keep it longer.

However, the processing of Personal Data will always be limited to what is necessary within the framework of the legitimate interests of HONECTION.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access your Personal Data free of charge at any time, as well as the use that HONECTION makes of it.

8.1 Right of rectification, erasure and restriction

You always have the right to request HONECTION to correct, supplement or delete your Personal Data.

You can also ask to limit the processing of your Personal Data.

8.2 Right to object

You have a right to object to the processing of your Personal Data for serious and legitimate reasons.

In addition, you always have the right to object to the use of Personal Data for direct marketing purposes; in that case, you do not even have to give reasons.  

8.3 Right to free data transfer

You have the right to obtain your Personal Data provided to HONECTION in a structured, common and machine-readable form and/or to have it transferred to other controllers.

8.4 Right to withdraw consent

Insofar as the processing is based on your prior consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent.

 

8.5 Exercising your rights

You can exercise your rights by contacting HONECTION's contact person by post, e-mail or telephone.

8.6 Automated decisions and profiling

The processing of your Personal Data does not involve profiling and will not be subject to automated decisions by HONECTION. You always have the right to request human intervention in automated decision-making.

8.7 Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the GBA (Data Protection Authority):
